This is just a light-hearted blog, mostly related to Virtually Real from a less technical side, but not always. Everything is at least RPG related!

An Audiophile's Perspective

Hey there! Looking for something different from the typical 5e D&D experience? Well, let me introduce you to something pretty cool!

Back when I was younger, I got a subwoofer installed in my car because, well, why not? There was only one place in Dallas authorized to sell this particular model. When I went to pick it up, one of the guys working there hadn't seen anything like it before and thought about getting one for himself. The owner, though, shook his head and said, "Nah, you don't want this. This is clean bass!"

Sometimes, when customers ask for more bass, the installer might just loosen the bolts on the license plate so it rattles a bit. The customer's happy - they wanted one thing, to know they had the power to make some noise, even if it's just the license plate making a racket. You ever met D&D players like that?

D&D thumps like Kicker's and Cerwin Vegas - super fun at high school and college dorm parties, but it's not quite the refined taste of an audiophile. D&D is like having 1000W of power on some spec sheet!

Now, Virtually Real offers something entirely different. It brings you a vast and immersive soundscape, crisp highs, and smooth lows. The fast and clean bass tones from 15" ported woofers add a deep, mesmerizing rhythm to the game, while those massive horn midrange drivers bring crystal-clear voices to any story you want to tell. And let's not forget the "butt-cheek" horn-tweeter that adds nuanced details to the top end without causing listening fatigue.

Much like good speakers, Virtually Real has to be experienced to be truly appreciated. You can't just rely on the spec sheet. Sometimes, a large, efficient speaker powered by a 5W tube amp can sound as loud as a 100W setup on a cheap speaker, only with twice the depth! And, just between us, Virtually Real has enough watts to outdo D&D when it comes to volume, but that's not really its focus. Feel free to crank it up because Virtually Real doesn't distort when it's time to have some serious fun!

My hunch is that you might not have had the chance to listen to an amazing pair of speakers. Most people haven't. They had some Kicker's in their truck back in high school and played a little D&D - that was their jam. Today, your Bluetooth earbuds are great for your needs, and that's awesome! Keep dancing to your favorite tunes and singing out loud - it's all about having fun. However, when you're ready to experience music that raises the hairs on your arms and sends shivers down your spine, a sort of musical epiphany, give this game a shot! Setting it up and positioning it might take a bit, but once it's ready, listen to it!

See if it resonates with you. Who knows, you might just love it! I guarantee it's unlike anything you're used to!
